Lava Rocks (by Greeley’s Conquest) breaks maiden in MSW by 8 1/2 lengths!

July 16, 2015 by Keith Haag

Greeley’s Conquest continues to be on a roll with a new winner in Lava Rocks yesterday in a $32,500 maiden special weight race at Thistledown. The dark bay filly crushed the field, winning by a hefty margin of 8 1/2 lengths and paying only five cents on the dollar to win as the heavy favorite. You know it was a good race when the results chart comment reads, “much the best, easily”! Out of the Mt. Livermore mare Mt. St. Helens, Lava Rocks was bred in Ohio by Judith L. Mears and is currently owned by Jack Cannon. Congratulations to the connections, including trainer Pedro Posadas and jockey Walter De La Cruz. Best of luck next time out!

June 15, 2015 by Keith Haag

The exciting weekend for Greeley’s Conquest’s offspring just keeps getting better! A win for Greely’s Comet at Churchill Downs on Sunday afternoon marks three first time winners in three days for the stallion. The bay filly (Greeley’s Conquest – Kitty’s Comet by Maria’s Mon) won the $24,200 maiden claiming event by 2 1/2 lengths in her second career start. Congratulations to owner/breeder Millard Seldin who campaigned Greeley’s Conquest throughout his racing career and supports him every year with several of his own broodmares. A sweet victory indeed! Great job by trainer Gary Thomas (who also trained Greeley’s Conquest!) and jockey Sebastian Saez. Best of luck moving forward with this talented filly.

June 14, 2015 by Keith Haag

It has been an exciting weekend for Greeley’s Conquest with two first time winners in less than 24 hours! The first victory came Friday, June 12th for Never Heard in a $10,500 maiden claiming event at Prairie Meadows. The dark bay gelding won by two lengths in just his second career start after running third in his debut three weeks prior. Congratulations to owner/breeder Lynden Branch, trainer Kenny Smith, and jockey Dusty Ryder Shephard. The second victory came Saturday, June 13th for Ice Cream Wagon in a $8,600 maiden Quarter Horse race (yes, you read that correctly!) at Ruidoso Downs. Bred and originally owned by Toby Keith’s Dream Walkin’ Farm, the chestnut gelding now belongs to Grissom Racing, Inc. (O.D. Grissom), Bailey Herwig, and Steve Herwig. A huge round of applause is necessary for the effort put forth by Oliver’s Tale to win the Siren Lure Stakes yesterday at Santa Anita in impressive fashion. Trainer, owner, and breeder Mark Tsagalakis did a phenomenal job getting the six-year-0ld chestnut horse primed and ready for the victory going six and a half furlongs down the hill on the turf. This makes Oliver two-for-two now on the year and Mark three-for-three with Get Happy Mister’s Grade 3 victory in April. Hats off to Mark who is absolutely killing it in 2015! Oliver went wire to wire in 1:13.88 with Tyler Baze up and dug in deep coming down the lane to find a way to prevail after a three way photo finish. Oliver’s Tale picked up $46,500 for winning the $75,000 contest, bringing his career record to 4-3-0 from 9 total starts while earning $179,950 for MT Racing. Congratulations from all of us here at Endeavor Farm!

Get Happy Mister (photo by Benoit Photo)

A huge congratulations to the connections of Get Happy Mister who won the Grade 3 San Simeon Stakes last night at Santa Anita in impressive fashion! This marks the first stakes win for farm partner Mark Tsagalakis in his 22 year training career and the first graded stakes win for owner and Mark’s mother-in-law, Annette Bishop. The bay gelding by First Samurai was making his turf debut and was coming off an eight month layoff after winning five straight races last summer at Arapahoe Park. Annette Bishop purchased Get Happy Mister as a yearling in August 2011 for $46,000 and has now earned over $384,000 with the horse, making him the highest-earning Colorado bred gelding. Tyler Baze gave the horse a spectacular ride to sneak up along the rail and win the $100,000 contest by a length in 1:13.11. This makes Mark 2-for-2 on the year, with both victories coming at Santa Anita going 6 1/2 furlongs down the hill on the turf. We here at the farm are thrilled to death for Mark and Annette, keep up the good work out there on the west coast!

Oliver’s Tale wins gate to wire, looks stellar!

March 25, 2015 by Keith Haag

Wow, what a performance by Oliver’s Tale last Friday at Santa Anita in the feature race of the day! Owned and trained by our very own Mark Tsagalakis (MT Racing), the 6-year-old chestnut son of E Dubai won by 3 1/2 lengths in his first start since June of 2014. Oliver’s Tale owned the 6 1/2 furlong contest going down the hill on the turf with an impressive time of 1:12.25. We here at the farm couldn’t be happier for Mark, Oliver, and his dam Gilded Sunrise, who happens to have a very handsome Dominus colt by her side! Keep up the great work Mark, we can’t wait to see Oliver back in action!
