Foaling Season 2018 Begins!

January 14, 2018 by Keith Haag

What a looker!!! Foaling Season 2018 got under way the morning of January 11th when we welcomed a bay filly out of longtime farm resident Blondz Away (by Skip Away). She is the very first foal from the first crop of Breeders’ Cup Mile winner Tourist. WinStar Farm stopped by to take some great photos of their stallion’s first foal, which can be seen here: WinStar Farm’s Facebook Post. Congratulations to the breeder of this very sharp filly, Corey and CJ Johnsen’s CJ Thoroughbreds. This foal is bred on the same cross as Blondz Away’s four-year-old, Gold Rush Stakes winner and California Derby-placed Colonel Samsen (by Colonel John). It was great to get the foaling season started off with a nice, healthy baby and a happy mother. This foal is the first of many we are expecting here at Endeavor Farm this year! Check out the first foal announcements for Tourist featured in the BloodHorse and the Paulick Report. She has become quite the celebrity!

Served Cold (Greeley’s Conquest – Serve It Cold) Breaks Maiden First Time Out!

November 15, 2015 by Keith Haag

Served Cold, a daughter of Greeley’s Conquest, got her racing career off to a great start by winning first ask in a $24,000 maiden claiming event at Gulfstream Park West on Thursday. The two year old chestnut filly won by a clear margin of 3 3/4 lengths after leading gate to wire in the 6 furlong contest and picked up $12,000 for the victory. Served Cold was bred in partnership by Richland Hills & CJ Thoroughbreds and was foaled and raised here on the farm before being sold as a weanling for $8,500 in the 2013 Keeneland November sale. As evidenced in the photo above, the filly was leggy and flashy as a baby with lots of chrome and was just as cute as could be! We love nothing more than to see horses that were born and raised here go on to achieve success on the racetrack. Congratulations to all the connections of this filly, owner D & D Stable, trainer Manuel Estevez, and jockey Orlando Bocachica. Let’s hope this is the first of many victories for Served Cold, we look forward to watching this filly continue her career as a racehorse!
